following TMT Football club President, Omar Saidykhan’s disparaging remarks against Gambia Football Federation GFF, 10 Points have now been deducted from them, and a of 20,000 dalasis.
Despite the unacceptable act by TMT President, GFF faced critiques from many Gambian sports lovers who described the punishment as a very harsh one.
Today, Omar Saidykhan apologized GFF:
It is of deep and sincere concern that i write on behalf of TMT Football Club to offer our unreserved apology to the Gambia Football Federation for the statement published through this medium regarding our statement apportioned against officials of the GFF.
Following my knowledge of the post uploaded on the page and as the club president, I ordered for its immediate and unconditional withdrawal and thus been brought down as soon as possible.
Despite the immediate cancelation of the post on our page, it was utterly unfortunate that the post had already gone viral and attracted some reactions.
I here by assure the GFF, football family and the general public that our mission at TMT FC is to contribute our part in the development of Gambian football as enshrined in the blueprint of the football leadership.
Meanwhile, we have filed an appeal against the decision of the GFF disciplinary committee while we also continue to engage with the authorities for the decision to be rescinded.
As a club, we have invested a lot in creating employment and contributing to national development with our fervent believe to help uplift the image of our young and dedicated people with a passion of football developments.
