President Sall tells Putin to realize that African countries are victims of the ongoing conflict. As a reminder, today marks the hundred day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. President Macky Sall, the chairman of the African Union on yesterday morning, left Dakar for Russia to meet his Russian counterpart Mr Vladimir Putin President of the Federal Republic of Russia to discuss the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Ukraine and the impact it has on African states.

He’s accompanied by the Chadian Moussa Faki Muhamat, President of the African Union Commission (AU) this Friday morning as the two statesmen meet; president Sall reminds Putin to realize that African countries are victims of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, he asks him not to penalize Africa. Macky Sall who carries the voice of Africa, negotiates the release of cereal goods, he also appeals to Putin that let the sanctions not affect the food sector.

These two countries, Russia and Ukraine produce almost 1/3 of the wheat in the world. There is a real risk of a food crisis in Africa, the black continent, which is very dependent on imports of flour and wheat. Africa has not had access to these cereals for three (3) months. Macky Sall asked Putin to consider Africa and Africans.
