Know Your Budget: Focus on Ministries of Defence & Interior
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence and Security recommended for the purchase of fire tender for The Gambia Fire and Rescue Service.
A) Ministry of Defence (MoD)
There was no reduction in the budget. However, the Committee recommended the following increments:
1. The overall budget of MoD be increased to a tune of D59,229,741
2. That Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA) to restore the budget line – Support to Veterans and allocate one
million dalasi
3. That MoFEA to restore the Operating Cost at the time of D150,000 and Supervision budget line D700,000
4. That MoFEA create a new budget line for the purchase of Patrol Craft for NAVY and allocate D11,025,000
B) Ministry of Interior (MoI)
There was no reduction in the budget. However, the Committee recommended the following increments:
1. The overall budget of MoI be increased to a tune of D123,200,000 for the Ministry.
2. That MoFEA to allocate D20 million to buy a fire tender for the Fire Service
