First Lady Fatou Bah-Barrow and Minister of Higher Education Arrive in UK

Her Excellency First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, together with the Hon Pierre Gomez, Minister for Higher Education and Delegation, arrived in the UK for the Warwick Africa Summit in Coventry. she was received by The Gambia High Commissioner and her staff at Heathrow Airport in the UK.

 

Upon arrival, her excellency met with The Goldsmith University Professor Lauren Stewart, who recognised Her Excellency Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow as a patron and ambassador for their Chime project in Gambia. The CHIME project is a research base initiative that looks into the women’s mental health in the Gambia due to miscarriages and postnatal depression.

 

The First Lady expressed appreciation for the gesture. She promised to work closely with academic institutions in the United Kingdom to promote research and knowledge development into in the health of women and children.

 

They meet the First Lady in London whilst on an official invitation from Warwick University.

The Warwick Africa Summit President Mariam Dunseath and the Summit organising committee at Warwick University in Coventry, UK, received her Excellency.
